Tips for Staying Productive as a Startup Entrepreneur
If you’re making the leap to starting your own business, you probably enjoy the freedom that comes with not having to answer to anyone but yourself. This freedom can be a double-edged sword, however, especially if you’re not used to self-regulating your time and energy.
The first day that you waste messing around on YouTube instead of doing actual work should be a warning sign of the kinds of problems you’ll face if you don’t learn how to be productive. Luckily, there are a few good steps you can take to ensure that you’ll be making solid daily progress toward success in your business.
Invest in Office Space
As tempting as it can be to believe you can be productive while sitting on your couch, the fact of the matter is that you’ll get much more work done in our 5th Ave office space than you ever will in your own home. Renting one of our workspaces will save you money as you’ll only have to pay for the workspace for as long as you actually plan to use it.
An actual workspace outside of your home will give you a place to focus and get productive, while also allowing you to leave the stress at the office and not let it infect your home or your relationships. Don’t let the line between work and life blur to the point that you can’t tell one from the other; invest in office space and get serious about your business.
Dress the Part
Even if you do decide to work from home, you should still get up and dress for work every morning. Even if no one is going to see you, it’ll help your brain to focus on doing the work and keep you from getting lazy or distracted if you’re wearing snappy work clothes even while working from your home office. It’ll also help you to keep your work life and home life separate by literally allowing you to shed your work suit at the end of the day and relax at home.
